  • St. Nicholas Church (Santa Claus Museum)

The tour starts with an interesting visit to the Santa Claus Museum, where thousands of tourists and pilgrims flock every year, due to its connection with the patron saint St. Nicholas, the former bishop of Myra. Here you can visit his original resting place, and enjoy the decorative ceiling frescos and floor mosaics.

  • The Ancient City of Myra

The history of Myra’s ancient city dates back to the 5th century B.C. and served an important role during both the Lycian and Roman periods. In addition to its ancient theatre, here you will find some of the most well-preserved rock-cut tombs carved into the cliffs above.

  • Museum of Lycian Civilizations

Andriake Port of ancient Myra was one of the most significant Lycian harbours, and has been operating as a museum since 2016. When walking past the ruins towards the museum itself (converted from a 2nd-century granary), take time to look out for the agora, underground cistern, Roman bath, harbour structure, monuments, and synagogue. Imagine what life was like all those centuries ago!
