Discover Kekova’s legendary coastline on this half-day kayaking adventure — the perfect way to see the Sunken City, Simena Castle, and other historic sites from the water.
This tour is a 100% Kekova sea kayaking and sightseeing experience, passing by all the region’s top highlights: the Sunken City of Kekova, Simena Castle, Tersane Bay, and Theimussa (Üçağiz village) — all from the seat of your kayak, just as it was meant to be seen on the Turkish Riviera.
This is a half-day experience that does not include lunch, offering great value for active travellers and those short on time. You’ll return to Üçağiz by early afternoon with the option to enjoy lunch at your own pace.
Itinerary: Kekova Sea Kayaking – Morning Explorer Tour (No Lunch)
🕘 09:00 – Enter the water & warm-up paddle
We launch from Üçağiz harbour and start with a short paddling session to help you get familiar with the kayak and rhythm of the sea.
🛶 09:20 – Depart with support boat towards Kekova Island
Escorted by our motorized support vessel, we paddle along the southern coastline, soaking in the views of untouched nature and historic charm.
🏝 10:15 – Tersane Bay & swimming break
Our first major stop is Tersane Bay, home to ancient ruins from a shipyard and crystal-clear water. Enjoy a refreshing swim break in one of the most scenic bays of the region.
🏛 10:45 – Paddle over the Sunken City of Kekova
We continue our journey past the Sunken City, a UNESCO-protected archaeological zone where swimming is not permitted — but kayaking silently over the ruins is the best way to admire this ancient wonder. Your guide will point out key features and share fascinating stories from history.
🏰 11:30 – Simena Castle (Kaleköy) visit
We stop at the village of Kaleköy, also known as ancient Simena. You’ll have around 45 minutes of free time to hike up to the hilltop castle (entrance €4), browse local stalls, or simply swim and relax in the bay.
⛵ 12:30 – Return paddle via Theimussa & Lycian tombs
On our way back, we pass by the Lycian sarcophagi of Theimussa, dotted along the shoreline. These tombs are uniquely placed half-submerged in the sea — a haunting and beautiful reminder of the region’s ancient past.
🏁 13:00 – Return to Üçağiz & tour ends
We finish the tour back at our kayak base around 13:00. You are free to enjoy lunch independently at one of the local restaurants in the village, or continue your day exploring the region.
🥗 Please note: Lunch is not included in this tour.

Guided Kekova Sea Kayaking Tour
Reviews

I was on my solo trip and had a single kayak. Had an Amazing experience kayaking and see the sunken city, castle ruins, lycian tombs etc. Our guide Salim is very experienced although he speaks few english. I recommend this trip but as it’s very physical, you need to paddle and sometimes the sea is not so friendly, and hiking to the top of the hill, you better be in a very good condition

Swimming at the first stop “tersane koy” and the clear water was amazing! Our guide Salim was very professional and friendly. If we’re the next time in Kaleköy/Üçağız, we would prefer this activity again! Have much fun!
