Karaloz Bay of Kekova, Demre

A boat tour around the Kekova region of Antalya province may take you to the wonderful Karaloz Bay. This stop is situated on the south-east side of Kekova Island.

Inhabitants of the Kekova region have also given the bay the name Salyangoz, which translates as ‘snail’ in English. Speaking of animals, some say that when viewed from above, the bay’s shape resembles that of a fox. Or could it be a starfish? You decide!

Karaloz Bay is considered to be one of the most beautiful bays in the world, but we will let you be the judge of that. It is also a hidden beauty since the entrance is not immediately visible. But you don’t want to miss the chance to visit here. Because of the white sand on the seabed, the water possesses a magnificent, vibrant, deep blue colour. In parts of the bay, you can even dive up to 14 metres!

Jump into the water to experience it for yourself. Once the boat has anchored, you may wish you could stay all day long.

Fun fact: There’s hardly any wind in the bay, so it is an ideal shelter for boats when storms creep in.
